Shweta Rai is a graduate of the Film and Television Institute of India. With a career that spans both documentaries and fiction films, Shweta has become known for her expertise and nuanced approach to storytelling through the editing process.

Her previous works include documentary films like “Battle of Banaras,” “Samudra Manthan,” “Pushkar Puran,” and “Tracing Phalke.” by Kamal Swaroop and fiction films as well like “Aamis,” “Chidiya Udh,” “Lajwanti,” “Teen Don Ek.” and “The Flamingos and Other Migratory Birds Tour.”

Shweta has expanded her repertoire, bringing her rich experience in filmmaking into her new directorial ventures. Her debut film, “Wake up, we’re almost home” (Ghar Aayo), undertaken after becoming a new mother, is a deeply personal project that reflects her evolving perspective on life and art. As a mother and a filmmaker, she brings an authentic voice to her work, combining creative vision with the nuanced sensitivity of a storyteller.
